Thesis Writing Retreat is a two-day course that focuses on practical thesis writing sessions that interleave with brief lectures on relevant topics.

Course Structure

Beginners: Structuring a Masters/PhD Proposal

(1st Day Only)

Jumpstart/refine your proposal writing

  • Write an attention-seeking problem statement and details of the proposed study
  • Write an exploratory literature review section to project out the research gaps of interest
  • Write a detailed method section
  • Establish the project schedule

 

Hands-on:

  • Guided work on aspects of proposal writing
  • One-on-One consultation with our expert coach
  • Produce a research proposal draft at the end of the day (Have your pdf journal articles in your laptop for library management by Mendeley)

Structuring a Masters/PhD thesis (1st Day & 2nd Day)

Jumpstart/refine your chapter drafts:

  • Chapter 1: Introduction
  • Chapter 2: Literature Review
  • Chapter 3 onwards: (Methodology & Results)

 

Hands-on:

One-on-One consultation with our expert coach on:
  • language use
  • use of coherence and cohesive device
  • the effective overall organization of chapters
