Early Intervention Program
ABOUT
What is EIP?
Children grow and develop at their own rate. Although some children walk and talk early, others may be delayed in learning certain skills. If you have any concerns about your child’s development, the earlier you seek help, the better. For children who have learning differences, it can be a struggle to keep up with curriculum in their kindergarten or preschool.
As parents, it is our responsibility to ensure that our children with learning differences ought to receive early intervention services — services that involve therapy and educational support services to provide for a child’s unique needs during the early childhood years, giving them a head start in their development.
ABOUT
About EIP?
With a high-quality early intervention program, your child will receive therapy and educational support services that are catered to his or her unique needs. This means that the child can have support to improve developmental outcomes, and he/she has a better chance of entering mainstream schools in the formal education system.
We help children develop skills such as:
- cognitive skills (thinking, learning, problem-solving);
- communication skills (gesturing, talking, listening, understanding);
- physical and sensory skills (crawling, walking, climbing, seeing, hearing);
- social-emotional skills (playing, understanding feelings, making friends); and
- adaptive or self-help skills (eating, bathing, dressing).
We currently have in-house special educationist, linguist and locum SLT and OT.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Early Intervention Program (EIP)?
An Early Intervention Programme (EIP) is an individualised intervention plan which provides various types of early intervention services to children who have been diagnosed with specific/general developmental delays, disabilities or other conditions that affect their development.
What is the purpose of EIP?
Early intervention services can change a child’s developmental path and improve outcomes for children, families, and communities. Help your child, help your family! Families benefit from early intervention by being able to better meet their children’s needs from an early age and throughout their lives.
Can I help develop my child's EIP?
Yes, absolutely. Parents have the right to participate in developing their child’s EIP. In fact, your input is invaluable. You know your child so very well, and the centre needs to know your insights and concerns.
What are the hours for the EIP?
We run our EIP programs in the mornings 8:30 am- 12:30 noon.
What is the staff-student ratio?
We strive to have 1 teacher: 5 student ratio.
How is payment made?
Payments are to be made at the beginning of each term. Parents can approach us and discuss alternative payment modes, should there be a need for some modification.
